The Steve Prescott Foundation

The Steve Prescott Foundation was established in 2006 and is headed up by ex St Helens, Hull, Wakefield, Ireland and GB Lions Tourist player, Steve Prescott MBE, who is battling cancer. Through a series of incredible challenges, more than £200,000 has so far been raised for its two nominated charities: Try Assist, previously known as the RFL Benevolent Fund, and the Christie Cancer Hospital in Manchester.

Try Assist

Previously known as The Rugby League Benevolent Fund, Try Assist aims to support players whose lives are affected by serious injuries while playing the game of rugby league.

The Christie

This hospital in Manchester is one of Europe's leading cancer centres, it treats over 40,000 patients a year. It is one of only two national specialist hospitals in Great Britain that specialises in research and treatment of the cancer suffered by Steve Prescott, pseudomyxoma peritonei.
