Anderson leads the way in May
St. Helens’ Daniel Anderson has been voted the engage Coach of the Month for May by representatives of the Rugby League media.
Anderson’s Saints were the only engage Super League team to win all their games in May – and they did so impressively by totting up over 30 points in each encounter.
The month started emphatically for Anderson’s men with a resounding 34-18 victory over derby rivals Wigan in Cardiff. This was followed by a 34-14 home win against Wakefield. Their biggest winning margin came at the Halliwell Jones where a half time deficit of 12-6 was swiftly wiped out as the Saints scored 6 tries without reply to finish 12-40.
On receiving the award Anderson said, “I’d like to thank engage for this (award) and accept it on behalf of our team and my staff. I’m very fortunate to be blessed with a fantastic playing roster, a very talented coaching staff and for an office that are very committed”.
He added, “The challenge is harder this year there’s a lot of very very good teams but I’d like to think that we’re a very good team as well, so once again it will depend on our availability of players in the play-offs in September and October.”
