guaranteed acceptance with no medical
If you’re under 66 you’re guaranteed to be accepted, and you won’t even have to answer any intrusive health questions, let alone undergo a medical. You won’t be covered for pre-existing conditions – unless they’re related to dental or optical treatment.
Professional sports and hazardous pursuits injuries and self inflicted injury are not covered by the plan.
what treatments are covered?
The engage Health Cash Plan provides money back on the cost of a variety of everyday health treatments and more besides. Perhaps the most important of these are dental and optical costs. These could include everything from a check up or treatment at the dentists to spectacles or contact lenses.
The engage Health Cash Plan also provides money back for a host of other treatments and eventualities. These include:
- Cash for each night you spend in hospital as an in-patient, up to a total of 70 nights over a 3 year period.
- Cover for physiotherapy, osteopathy and other treatments – up to 75% of receipt value for these treatments, up to a maximum of 8 visits within a 2 year period.
differences between this plan and private medical cover
- Private Medical Insurance (PMI) is designed to give you a greater choice when and where you have your treatment. It pays out on the costs associated with a hospital stay.
- A Health Cash Plan on the other hand, provides cash back on treatments – including dental and optical costs – regardless of whether they’re provided privately or by the NHS. They aren’t intended to fund the full cost of treatment, just to help you out with everyday healthcare bills.
The two types of cover can easily complement each other – they’re not the same thing at all!
