Rooney is the Top Cat for February

Wakefield’s influential stand off Jamie Rooney has been voted the engage Super League Player of the Month award for February.

Rooney has been a key man for the Wildcats guiding them to the top of the engage Super League table for the first time in their history. The stand off has made an exceptional start to the season, with form that Wildcats coach John Kear believes clearly displays his Great Britain credentials.

Upon receiving the award, Jamie said: “There is a great deal of confidence running through the players at the moment. Belief is key and it is belief in our own abilities that kept us up last year and has put us to the top of the league this year. What we must do now is remain consistent – there is a long season ahead.”
