Rovers looking to keep their heads above water!

Ahead of this Sunday’s Humberside derby, engage Mutual Assurance, Super League’s title sponsor, caught up with some of the Hull Kingston Rovers players on their day off.
Amidst an intense week of preparations for the big match; Australian trio Ben Fisher, Ryan Tandy and David Tangata-Toa found time out to hit the beach at Scarborough and catch a few waves.
The excursion seemed the perfect respite from all the pressure of the relegation zone as the season draws to a close. For Hull KR, survival is in their own hands as they strive to buck the trend of many other newly promoted clubs and avoid the drop after one season.
“This season's definitely been a lot tougher than national league one last year,” said Rovers prop David Tangata-Toa. “With Super League you've got to rock up every single week and that's the big challenge.”
With just three matches left of the regular season, Hull KR have the opportunity this weekend to wash away all fears of relegation. With Rovers currently sitting second bottom and three points above Salford City Reds, survival would be guaranteed if the Reds lose at Wigan Warriors on Friday and the Robins win the Hull derby at the KC Stadium on Sunday.
Second rower Tandy said: “It's been a tough season. We're three points off the bottom so we definitely need a win or two, but it's been a good experience for the club and a good learning curve for me. If we win this week and Salford don't then it definitely sees us safe. If they grab a win though, they can get us mathematically if they win the last two.”
